A Message from the new Assistant Dean for CME and Lifelong Learning, Dr. David Healy

Dear Colleagues,

As of Sept. 1, the Office of Continuous Professional Development has a new name — the Office of Continuing Medical Education and Lifelong Learning.

One of our essential functions is the accreditation of continuing medical education on behalf of the Medical School. We have re-energized our customer focus and strengthened our commitment to improvement in all aspects of the CME application process.

Over the next few months, I will meet with department chairs to clarify our mission and identify ways our office can help Medical School leadership utilize physician and Interprofessional education to improve patient care.

In addition, the Office of Continuing Medical Education and Lifelong Learning will launch:

  • A CME-specific learning management system to help support our applications and processes. The new system will provide clarity and improve the user experience.
  • A new website to host our applications and processes, with enhanced support for educational planning and conflict of interest management.

I look forward to working with you, and learning how our office can best support your needs.

Very best wishes,

David Healy, M.D.
